Truth be told, I am only half Scottish but I seem to have inherited a number of the typical traits - Blue eyes, light skin, a sharp sense of humor, a cynical eye toward much of the world and the ability to drink my body weight in scotch or a nice ale on any given night.
I very much enjoy traveling and am lucky enough to have a job that allows me to travel around the world working with a number of different people in many different countries as well as a wife that enjoys traveling for pleasure. I am frequently asked by friends and family about the different places I visit and how can they follow along with me wherever I am at.
I decided that keeping a travel blog is the best way to keep everyone informed of how things are going, what I am up to, and where I am at any particular time as well as recommendations for places to go in the places I've been. So... I will be trying to keep this site updated as I go, hopefully it will be enjoyable for anyone that stumbles across it to follow along with me.
As a quick note, the tagline for the blog "You can tell a lot about a country from what it eats first thing in the morning" was stolen from one of my favorite comedians (who just happens to be Scottish) Danny Bhoy in describing the difference between a Scottish, French and German breakfast. Here's a video clip that includes that bit from a comedy festival in Montreal.
Hopefully you will enjoy reading through the posts and pictures that will be posted to the blog in the upcoming months as much as I will enjoy documenting my adventures.
